Object compositions

Oil colors on canvas

The compositions of objects with oil colors on canvas correspond to my personal primordial period that can be intercalated from 2003 to 2007 and with an intense desire I would like to resume them with new creations, also for a “remember” of my artistic experience. They are urban compositions with architectural structures symbolically represented with geometrical canopies and with the insertion of domestic objects that accompany our daily lives. A rural reality is often inserted to integrate the objects with overlaps with the urban elements. The common thread of the compositional themes created is the continuous recurrence to the essence of metaphysical art which has often particularly interested and involved me already from academic studies. De Chirico’s message turns out to be the basis of my creative beginning mainly in the content but less in the form which instead is attracted by the compositional setting of Giorgio Morandi, however integrated with a chromatic palette by Giorgio De Chirico. The identity of these creations with oil colors on canvas belong to the input of the mind which helps to stabilize a balanced compositional iconography. The malleable plasticity of oil colors on canvas, through the preference for different and opposite shades, helps to stabilize the compositional space. Pasquale Petrucci
