I am Petrucci Pasquale
I define myself as a multi-purpose artist. Mainly because I am restless with a constant inner agitation that inevitably pushes me to continuously explore new forms of expression.
It is necessary to clarify that the restlessness emerged already in pre-adolescence with the preference to attend the special middle school or annexed to the State Art Institute with more hours of study of project drawing. The final exam at the State Art Institute, ceramics section, was almost automatic. But the completion of the studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples were regularly carried out in the scenography course with the master Tony Stafanucci then artistic director of the majestic San Carlo theater in Naples. The photography course of the academy’s study plan with the artist Mimmo Jodice, and the music course with the musician, musicologist and director Roberto De Simone have proved to be particularly influential. With the references of these prestigious Neapolitan artistic figures, the formation of a stable theatre group of the Academy of Fine Arts of Naples with the name of “gruppo trentacinque” (thirty-five group) was a given, made up of students of the same scenography course involved in the creation of the designed scenes and in the acting under the direction of Roberto De Simone. The theatrical experience leaves room for the creation of a promotional graphics studio. In 1980 he is placed in the roles of teaching art and image for Italian state schools. All these expressive experiences have always been interspersed with a discontinuous pictorial activity, but since 2002 he has been developing a visual project that essentially searches for metaphysical elements to insert into compositions made with oil colours on canvas. At the same time, until 2006 he took part in various art exhibitions, receiving much acclaim. At the end of the project in 2006 he exhibited at the F.R.A.C. (Regional Fund of Contemporary Art) in Baronissi (SA) the product of the long research called “Nuraghe Contemporanee”. Aesthetic creativity expands into different expressive manifestations; Land Art / Mail-Art / Artist’s Book / Artistic Installations. In 2008 he developed a new project on photography that tends to make the superposition of Anton Giulio Bragaglia’s FUTURISTA PHOTODYNAMISM applicable and feasible. This last project divides two possible expressive realizations: URBAN ALERATIONS and URBAN DYNAMISM. The interest in photography facilitates the creation of an exhibition project of contemporary photographs called “contemporary realism” which is essentially made up of urban scenes that belong to our daily life, assembled with ease by the hand of man, by atmospheric situations, or by the wear and tear of time. Currently the result is realized with informal photographs and decollage photographs.
