Lately, the interest of art critics and even the markets has grown enormously towards photography as a form of contemporary art. So much so that the artistic director of the Victoria / Albert Museum in London and the County Museum of Los Angeles, Dr. Charlotte Cotton, found it necessary to publish an essay called “Photography as Contemporary Art” which soon became an indispensable point of reference for the entire contemporary cultural sector. Through my personal experience I consider that contemporary photography is absolutely not a simple and common duplicate copy of reality, but it is an artistic expression that while maintaining a link with the immortalized reality and with a technical-operational customization, manages to express visual consents.
